We’re watching the tropics closely. Tropical Storm Lowell is the main system of interest right now. The National Hurricane Center expects Lowell to strengthen into a hurricane this weekend. It’s currently about 1,500 miles southeast of Hilo, but weak steering currents are making the forecast track especially uncertain. We will have to see how it pans out for Labor Day weekend.
