A former employee of Smith Academy is being charged with aggravated and indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14.Former Smith Academy biology teacher and Athletic Director Allison Slysz, 32, of Hatfield, pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 by a mandated reporter at her arraignment in Northampton District Court Thursday. Slysz was charged following a State Police investigation involving her conduct with a female student, according to Melissa Sippel, a spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. Although the investigation began while Slysz was employed at Smith Academy, she no longer works at the school.
